NGK Automotive Ceramics, USA Inc. is seeking an Junior Engineering Account Manager at our Novi, MI facility. NGK will consider candidates with experience levels from Entry Level to 5 years.
The Junior Engineering Account Manager researches and reports information on the performance of company technologies as well as competing technologies. Aids in the development and application of products to fulfill customer needs. Confers with existing and prospective customers and assesses customer needs. Promotes and implements technical products and services into customer development and production programs. Responsibilities include providing product functionality and capability reports and acting as technical liaison both internally and externally. Responsible for the communication between NGK and customers and acts as the liaison for the commercial aspects of the business, including but not limited to, pricing, negotiation and feedback.
*Negotiates product specifications and performance requirements internally and externally.
*Researches emission regulations and resulting after-treatment technology requirements, competitor performance as well as market trends, to recommend product and technology development strategy.
*Recommends product configurations to meet customer needs.
*Confers with customer key personnel, primarily in engineering quality and purchasing to assess their needs and to determine their technical and business requirements.
*Collaborates with sales dept. and product engineering dept. to understand customer requirements, to promote the development of company products and to provide technical support.
*Initiate development of responses to specific customer requirements.
*Provides product technical expertise and support during development and production at customers.
*Creates budgets and participates in the budget process.
*Aids in the development of existing systems to fulfill the needs of customers.
*Reports and assist in diagnosing technical problems.
*Recommends improved products to customers, with material supporting how such changes will lower costs, increase performance or overall quality.
*Prepares and provides technical presentations that explain products and/or services to existing and prospective customers.
*Coordinates and monitors the scheduling, pricing, proposal, quotation and technical performance of company programs.
*Aiding in the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes and coordinating preparations of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts.
*Delivers input and support for any internal or external new business opportunities as well as new applications within existing customers.
*Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules and develops solutions to program problems as well as directs those assigned to program from various departments within NGK and customer.
*Providing program status reports and acting as technical liaison to the sales, product engineering and laboratory teams.
*Responsible for developing and maintaining better relationships with customers.
*Ensures compliance and support of company policies, procedures, and objectives.
*Performs duties as deemed necessary by direct supervisor and senior management.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, etc.)
Experience: Entry Level to 5 years of experience as application engineer or similar and account management.
*Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
*Knowledge of the budgeting process.
*Strong customer interface and negotiation skills.
*Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
*Task oriented with strong sense of priority and ability to manage multiple tasks.
*Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
