NGK Automotive Ceramics USA, Inc. directly supports and supplies all major automobile and heavy duty diesel manufacturers with high-performance precision ceramic components for diesel and gasoline engine emission control systems.

NGK Automotive Ceramics USA, Inc. is seeking a Prototype Samples Coordinator (Entry-Level Administration) at our Novi, MI facility.  Japanese language is helpful. 

 

I.         BASIC FUNCTIONS

             Performs prototype sample tasks to support the company. Responsible for performing routine clerical duties such as maintaining letters, e-mails, faxes, memoranda,  all pertaining to shipping and receiving both internal and external, shipping documents, invoices, certificates and other indexed records arranged in a file according to an established system. Coordinates the company's daily sample process, including inbound and outbound shipments, inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution.

 

  II.        ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.     Plans and schedules inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers.

2.     Receives orders and assigns shipments to proper warehouses and carriers.

3.     Receives sample orders from customers and assigns manufacturing/shipments to   proper destination through carriers.

4.     Receives commercial parts from domestic and overseas plants and maintain related paperwork and data input in the system, including shipping documents and invoices.

5.     Monitors daily inventory to ensure that product adjustments are properly applied.

6.     Acts as liaison between customers, freight carriers, warehouses and the plants.

7.     Ensures on-time delivery of goods to customers, by investigating and resolving detention issues.

8.     Analyzes flaws in procedures, and reports and recommends to supervisor reasonable system modifications and improvements.

9.     Acts as an expediter to resolve delivery problems and implement improvements to the logistics system.

10.  Monitors costs by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting most cost-efficient method of shipment, if necessary, and makes recommendations or suggestions to supervisor for possible improvement.

11.  Performs related and other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.

 

Education:     Associates degree.

Experience:    0-2 years of related experiences

Skills/Aptitude:      Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing computer skills.

Knowledge of logistics, import/export regulations and procedures.

Japanese language is helpful. 

Experiences in warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and learning the use of the computerized distribution system.

Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment

Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

Good time management and organizational skills.

Work Environment: Office, warehouse or manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required to meet deadline of assigned tasks.
